Ajrakh is a traditional form of block printing that originates from the regions of Kutch in Gujarat and Barmer in Rajasthan, India. Known for its deep, rich colors and intricate geometric and floral patterns, Ajrakh is both an art form and a cultural identity. The word "Ajrakh" is believed to be derived from the Arabic word "azrak", meaning blue, which is a dominant color in this craft due to the use of natural indigo dye.

Ajrakh printing is a labor-intensive process that can take up to 14–21 days to complete. It involves multiple stages of washing, dyeing, printing, and drying, using natural dyes made from plants, minerals, and even cow dung. Artisans use hand-carved wooden blocks to apply the designs with remarkable precision.

Traditionally worn by pastoral communities, Ajrakh is now celebrated globally for its sustainable production, cultural heritage, and unique aesthetic. Each piece of Ajrakh fabric tells a story of meticulous craftsmanship passed down through generations.
